  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII German Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Aluminum EM/NCO's Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß) with an original black finished leather belt that looks to have had a very interesting life! The buckle is embossed with the Heer motto GOTT MIT UNS ("God (is) with us") inside a double rope border around a closed wing Wehrmachtadler (Armed Forces Eagle), with a partial oak leaf wreath at the bottom. Nice aluminum construction box buckle with a pebbled background. The buckle is in good condition, and is a single piece injection molded and crimped example. It does show some surface wear, common due to the softer aluminum alloy, but the design is still relatively clear, just lacking the finer details.

    This buckle was originally entirely painted standard Heer olive gray, and while this is worn on the front, the rear still still shows about 60%. The buckle itself is marked R S & S on the back, and it still retains the Pre-1941 leather tab, which is fully marked, though due to wear it is VERY faint, and requires a magnifier and patience to read:-

    R. SIEPER & SÖHNE
    * 1937 *
    LÜDENSCHEID

    The leather belt is in good service used condition, and measures about 32” when fully extended. There are no markings we can see, and it definitely was cut down at the buckle end, as the adjustment tab only has two holes, with the belt and tab cut off after that point. The other end by the claw looks to have been restitched as well, though it was not adjusted in length, and we can see faint maker markings present. The belt shows long use, and of interest is that there are rows of stitch holes on the belt, so it looks like at one point it actually had cartridge loops added! Definitely a belt unlike any we have seen before!

    Overall condition in very good with an exception eye appeal and patina! Ready to display!
