  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a rare large size propaganda poster from the German-Occupied Netherlands dating around July 1943. The poster features a smiling worker in shades of blue and white walking towards the viewer in front of a bright yellow and orange shaded industrial background with smoke rising from factory chimneys, the bold stylised lettering above and below. The poster is meant to convince Dutch men to work in Germany, featuring some of the benefits of doing so, such as being happy when the entire country was in a state of disarray due to the occupation.

The poster measures 34½ x 47” and is in great shape, with the only damage being tearing along the edges. The poster retains its color which is very vibrant. The top reads:

    OOK ZOO TEVREDEN?
    ALSO SO SATISFIED?

    And the bottom reads:

    HIJ WERKT IN
    DUITSCHLAND
    HE WORKS IN
    GERMANY

MELDT U AAN BU HET GEWESTELUKE ARBEIDSBUREAU
REGISTER WITH THE REGIONAL EMPLOYMENT OFFICE

The bottom border of the poster notes the publication being authorized by the “Kingdom Commission”, from June 1st, 1942 to July 1st, 1942.

A great example of a large-scale poster from the German-Occupied Netherlands. Comes ready for framing and display.
