Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. The DRK, "Deutsches Rotes Kreuz" (German Red Cross), a voluntary civil assistance organization originally instituted in 1864, was officially acknowledged by the Geneva Convention in 1929. In December 1937 it gained status as a legally recognized organization by the NSDAP. As with other essential services in Third Reich Germany, it came under control of the NSDAP in late 1938 under the auspices of the Ministry of the Interior's Social Welfare Organization.
This is a great DRK medical pouch which retains many of its original bandages, two of which are in their original wrappers. The first is marked Wund-Watte and is dated 1941, and the other has the insignia of the DRK and is marked Watte, and dated 1941. The rest of the bandages in the pouch are loose, with roughly 9 other bandages inside.
The pouch is stamped on the reverse with fvz / 41 for 1941 manufacture by Paul Klopfer of Berlin, a well known maker of belts & pouches.
This is a great DRK pouch with retained bandages, ready for further research and display.
