Original Item: Only One Available. This is an original German WWII Deutsche Arbeitsfront, or DAF, aluminum wall sign measuring approximately 20cm, or 7.87", in diameter. The sign features the distinctive DAF gear and mobile swas emblem and was likely intended for display at an office, workplace, or other organization affiliated location.

The Deutsche Arbeitsfront, or German Labor Front, was established after the NSDAP government eliminated Germany’s independent trade unions and brought workers and employers under a centralized party controlled labor organization. Signs of this type were used to identify DAF associated offices, facilities, and organizational spaces.

This example is constructed from lightweight aluminum and is unmarked on the reverse. The central emblem is crisply formed, with black finish remaining well preserved within the recessed accent grooves around the mobile swas.

There are no drilled mounting holes present. Because of this, the exact original mounting method cannot be determined. It may have been displayed using small hooks, clips, or another nonpermanent attachment method rather than being directly screwed to a wall.

Overall condition is very good. The aluminum shows light oxidation and expected storage wear but no significant pitting, tracking, dents, or major structural damage. The black accent finish remains well retained and provides strong contrast to the exposed aluminum surfaces.

With its 20cm aluminum construction, distinctive DAF gear emblem, well retained black detailing, clean reverse, and lack of drilled mounting holes, this is a very well preserved example of German WWII labor organization signage. The light oxidation and minor storage wear are fully disclosed. It would fit especially well in a DAF, German workplace organization, WWII political signage, aluminum insignia, or advanced period display collection.

With the dissolution of all Free Trade Unions in Germany in May 1933 the Deutsche Arbeitsfront, (German Labor Front), was established to replace the unions and to educate the workers in industry and commerce for smooth and efficient operation of all labor in the Third Reich. In October 1934 the DAF was given official status as a sub-section of the NSDAP and in March 1936 it was recognized as an independent NSDAP affiliated association and granted control of its own monetary budget. With this money it was able to procure its own signs and other insignia.
