  • Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of German WWII military issue cutlery, which was likely brought back from the European theater by a USGI after the war was concluded. Many soldiers traded these on the way back, and would end up with a pocket full of various different mixed utensils, and this set represents the typical "haul" one might have come back with. There are large number of pieces in the set that have the Luftwaffe Eagle insignia, as well as some that are even marked Fl.U.V., for Flieger Unterkunft Verwaltung, or the Flight Barracks Administration, the agency responsible for Luftwaffe accommodations. All have maker markings, and one item even has a regimental designation!

    The set includes:

    - One Luftwaffe silver plated serving spoon marked by KRUPP, which also is marked II / LN. RGT 2 on the reverse, for 2nd Company, Luftwaffe Air Signals (Luftnachrichten) Regiment 2. Measures about 8 1/4 inches in length.

    - THREE Luftwaffe aluminum teaspoons, measuring about 5 3/4 inches in length. All are Fl.U.V. marked, with maker initials and dates on the reverse.

    - One Pre-Wwii aluminum teaspoon with a faded maker mark on the back. Measures about 5 3/4 inches in length.

    - One Reichsadler marked dinner knife with a stainless steel blade and aluminum handle. It is maker marked and dated on the back, and measures 9 1/4 inches overall, with a 5 inch long blade.

    - One Luftwaffe Fl.U.V. marked dessert knife with a stainless steel blade and silver plated handle. There are small markings near the where the handle meets the blade, which look to give the maker and silver content of the plating. There are also markings on the blade indicating it was made by Gottlieb Hammesfahr & Co.. Measures 6 7/8 inches overall, with a 3 1/2 inch long blade.

A great set that would be welcome in any German WWII Cutlery Collection!
