Original German WWII Busch Marching Compass with Unit Marking - 10th Infantry Division

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce WWII Busch Marching Compass with its original leather pouch. The compass is near mint, in almost unissued condition. The compass itself has an eyepiece to use the rangefinder, and functions very well. This is a great WWII German foot locker or combat field pack display item. The case itself measures 3 x 2⅞ x 1”.
The top of the compass bears the Busch logo & the serial number, 3253, and the unit marking I./J.R.10.1, for the 10th Infantry Division. The 10th Infantry Division was created in October 1934 under the cover name Wehrgauleitung Regensburg (later Kommandant von Regensburg) to hide its violation of the Treaty of Versailles. It was renamed the 10th Infantry Division when the establishment of the Wehrmacht was announced publicly in October 1935.
