Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a great German NSDAP period desk ornament, probably owned by someone of importance to the party, who wanted to show their loyalty to anyone who was in their office, very possibly high ranking party officials. Of course it is equally likely that the owner was a high ranking member themselves. The ornament features an alloy NSDAP Reichsadler Eagle on top of a lovely white marble base, and is completely unmarked, most likely custom made for the owner.

The metal Reichsadler Eagle itself is the "closed wing" variety looking to the viewer's right, and measures 6 3/8" tall by 5 3/4" wide. It is attached to a two step white marble base with felt on the bottom, which measures approximately 5 3/4" by 2 3/4" around the bottom piece, and overall the piece is 7 3/4" in height.

Condition is really very good, with most of the original antiqued bronzing intact, with wear through on some of the raised portions, giving it a great aged look. There is some wear to the marble base from use and storage, as expected for an item of this age, which probably saw long use during the NSDAP period, and then was probably on display for years after being captured. A very interesting piece that would be welcome in any German WWII or USGI bring back collection!
