Original German WWII Beaded M35 NSDAP Double Decal Civic Police Steel Helmet with 54cm Liner and Chinstrap - marked NS62

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice and somewhat rare genuine steel construction M35 "Beaded" Third Reich helmet, outfitted for German WWII civic police issue. These helmets were essentially like the Military issue, however the steel was not as high quality. They were given a "bead" around the edge, to avoid mixing them up with the military version. The helmet features genuine double decals of a Police Civic Eagle on the left and an NSDAP Party shield on the right, standard for police issue.
The exterior of this German helmet retains much of the original paint, showing only light wear with some scuffing and white marks from rubbing against something. We have noted that the paint color is in fact a dark blue color, and can see an area at the front of the helmet where a wide decal looks to be removed. This helmet most likely started out as a Luftschutz Air Raid Defense helmet, which was later repurposed for Police use. The decals on the helmet are both still very well retained, with the NSDAP Party Shield retained at about 90% with wear and some chipping, while the Police Eagle is a bit better, at 95% with overall wear and a bit missing at the very top. Both have yellowed beautifully over the years, giving them a great aged look.
The reverse, interior, neck guard apron is lot number stamped E8 and the interior, left side, apron has the stamped manufacturer's code and size NS62, indicating that it was manufactured by Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke, of Schwerte, Germany. Size 62 is a nice smaller size that can accommodate liners from 54cm to 55cm or US 6 3/4 to 6 7/8.
The helmet comes with a very nice nine finger civic leather liner with all three split pins still present and intact, still retaining the cork spacers around each, though the right side one is split. The liner does have some wear around the edge, but it is still supple, and is stamped with size 54 on one of the rear fingers. The top tie string is still present and threaded through all of the fingers, some of which show some light tearing of the eyelets. It still has a very nice supple black leather chin strap, which shows some wear to the black finish, but no tearing or other issues.
Overall a great opportunity to get a lovely example of a German WWII Beaded M35 Civic Police helmet with an interesting history. Ready to display!
