  • Original Item: Only One Available. This round is totally inert and deactivated following guidelines provided by the ATF. This example is offered in fair condition with a 3-D printed projectile and original markings on the casing. Not Available for Export.

The 8.8 cm Flak 18/36/37/41 is a German 88 mm anti-aircraft and anti-tank artillery gun from World War II. It was widely used by Germany throughout the war, and was one of the most recognized German weapons of that conflict. Development of the original model led to a wide variety of guns. This example is one of the variants used aboard the Tiger I heavy tank, and has a 3-D printed projectile added for display. The bottom of the steel casing is stamped:

    asx
    50
    fad    43
    [6347 St
    8,8cm Flak 18]

There is some heavy oxidation blocking some of the markings but we sourced them from a similar example. The code ‘asx’ denotes manufacture by Hoesch AG, Abteilung Werk Dortmund. This is a known maker of artillery shell casings of various sizes during the war. There is a Waffenamt stamp next to this, reading 844.

The round measures 36 ½” with the dummy projectile. Due to someone carrying it by the projectile, it is a bit loose from the casing, but it is still technically attached.
