Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice fuel drum lid, dated 1943, used by Germany during WWII. This was removed from the drum, which would have been very large and heavy, and brought back home by a USGI after the war. It still has clear embossed markings on it:
19 kxw 43
KRAFTSTOFF 200L
FEUERGEFÄHRLICH
WEHRMACHT
Produced in 1943, this lid, and presumably the drum it went to, were made by contractor "kxw", Eugen Zumtobel of Dorbirn/Vorarlberg. "Kraftstoff" translates to "Fuel" and Feuergefährlich to "Flammable". This was for use by the "Wehrmacht", which was the combined military forces of NSDAP era Germany.
A great display piece, ready to hang on the wall!
