Original German WWII 17th Infantry Regiment NCO Visor Cap with Braunschweig Skull Insignia
Original Items: Only One Available. Genuine Wehrmacht 17th infantry regiment where was only first and fourth companies were allowed to use the Braunschweig style skulls on their headgear and insignia in remembrance of 92th Braunschweig regiment history. This wonderful hat which is produced in dark green wool that is excellent, having just no discoloration. The white piping is crisp and fully intact. There is a beautiful pinched peak. The dark green badge cloth center band is in fine condition. The insignia, which includes the eagle, wreath, and cockade, are all silver finished aluminum. As this owner was a member of Infantry Regiment 17 "Braunschweig," it also has a very rare skull and cross bone traditions badge. This very detailed example features a red eye sockets and mouth. The black leather chinstrap is in excellent condition. The black vulkanfibre visor has no crazing and is also excellent. The interior is fully lined in green rayon. There is almost discoloration. The moisture shield and maker label is missing. The sweatband is brown leather and fully intact with minor discoloration. The cap is a size 60.
