Item Description

Original Items: Only these three available. These is a set of four different German era holsters from the WWI/WWII era, one for the 9mm Walter P-38 Pistol, one for a Walther 1914, and two for Medium 7.65mm Pocket pistols, of which there were numerous in service. These come from a Collection of Pistol Holsters purchased by IMA, some with an old index card enclosed giving the model of the pistol and Serial Number of the pistol originally issued with the holster.

The first holster is a black contoured softshell holster for the Walther P-38, and is much more form fitting than the usual type encountered. It has a spare magazine compartment on the side  It has a spare magazine compartment on the front. There are trades of markings on the back, but they have faded. Condition is very good, with lots of the original finish present.

The second holster is a very supple brown softshell holster for the Mauser 1914 Pistol in .32ACP, also known as 7.65 mm Browning Short. It has a spare magazine compartment on the front, and the name of a previous owner written inside the flap: Cpt. K. POWELL. We assume this is the name of the officer that captured the pistol. There are trades of markings on the back, but they have faded. There is also a small index card inside stating Mauser 1914 / Holster For / # 100409. Condition is very good, with lots of the original finish present.

The third holster is a black Pebblegrain Leather flap top holster with spare magazine compartment to the front, and is the typical small size "high-front" holster. This is the style issued for the many  of the smaller 6.35mm and 7.65mm pocket pistols used by officers. It has various markings on the back, including a "Police" style eagle and a 1944 date.  Holster is in good shape, with the expected finish wear.

The last holster is a black leather flap top holster with spare magazine compartment to the front, and is the typical medium size "high-front" holster with a "break-away" design. This is the style issued for the many 7.65mm pocket pistols used by officers. It is in good used condition, and is in very good shape, though some of the stitching has pulled out on the end of the breakaway flap. There is also some finish wear around the magazine pouch.
