  • Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of German WWII Period Flags and pennants, along with a very interesting WWI Personalized Napkin, which was likely brought back from the European theater by a USGI after the war was concluded. Many soldiers traded these on the way back, and would end up with a pocket full of various different collectible items, and this set represents the typical "haul" one might have come back with.

Most of the items are various flags from the WWII period in Germany, and include:

    - One NSDAP National Pennant Flag, measuring 27" in fly and 13" in hoist. It is single sided and made of cotton, showing light to moderate staining and wear.

    - One Small 5 1/2" x 8 1/4" NSDAP National Flag, likely made from rayon, showing a good amount of wear. It has stitching around the edges, probably to keep it from fraying.

    - One Small 6 3/4" x 8 1/4" NSDAP National Flag, double sided, on a 17" pole.

    - One Small German WWII Heer Army Cavalry Parade Standard Flag measuring 5 1/4" x 5 3/4", attached to a 11 1/2" pole.

Also with the group is a very interesting WWI era napkin, which is printed with the flags of the Allied powers (The United Kingtom, France, the Russian Empire, and Belgium) in the foure corners, just inside a beige border. The center of the flag however has the following embroidered (partly worn away):

    Andenken

    1915 aus 1917

    Warschau

This basically translates to "Souvenir, 1915 to 1917, Warsaw", During WWI Warsaw was initially a part of the Russian Empire, however following 1915 it was occupied by German forces, so this seems to be a souvenir from that time, made a bit more poignant by being on a napkin celebrating the Allied forces that had abandoned the city.

Definitely a very interesting group of flags and similar items from WWI-WWII Germany, ready to research and display!
