Original German WWI & WWII 1916-Dated Black P.08 Luger Holster with Modifications on WWII Black Officers Claw Belt

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a heavily service-worn and extensively modified German P.08 Luger hardshell holster originally manufactured in 1916 and later used, altered, and reissued through the interwar period. It is now mounted on a 1938-dated black officer’s claw belt, creating a mixed-period grouping that reflects a long service life extending from WWI into the WWII era.
The holster is constructed from leather and now has a dark brown to black appearance from age, wear, and later treatment. The holster is stamped on the interior under the flap:

This shows a long history of this holster being used, modified, and reissued over several years after the war, and leading into World War II. The holster has very heavy wear, with both rear belt loops now entirely gone. Two belt loops were slit into the holster rear itself, which is how the holster is now attached to the belt. The lid also appears to have been restitched at one point with much of the stitching now gone on one side. The pistol ejection strap is still intact, and the take down tool pocket is present though it is heavily worn and crazed.

This denotes 1938 manufacture. The belt has some heavy crazing but is still solid, and looks to have been modified during the period as well. The end looks hand-cut and there look to be added adjustment holes. The belt is 1 ½” wide and is roughly 35” long.
The combination of a 1916-manufactured P.08 holster, a 1931 interwar reissue or property marking, and a 1938-dated officer’s belt gives the grouping a layered service history. The missing original belt loops, cut-in replacement slots, restitched flap, worn tool pocket, altered belt end, and added adjustment holes are all significant condition factors, but they also illustrate the continued reuse and modification of German military leather equipment over several decades.
