Original German WWI Steel Hilt Ersatz Bayonet with "FAG" Scabbard - Carter Type EB28

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. German WWI Ersatz bayonets with their original 12" blades are very hard to find today. The classic work by J.ANTHONY CARTER, GERMAN BAYONETS, VOLUME THREE published in 1992 is the complete work covering all types of WWI Ersatz bayonets and cherished by bayonet collectors everywhere.

Anthony Carter's Reference EB28 appearing on Page 74-75 is the model we offer here.  It features a heavy cast steel hilt with split muzzle ring and does not have a reinforced surround to the locking stud, with a 12" fullered blade bearing small German proof to the lower spine. Overall length is 17 1/4 inches and it comes complete with a very nice steel scabbard, with the stylized fag marking in an oval. This company manufactured a very large number of these scabbards for ersatz bayonets.

J. Anthony Carter died in 2001 but his four volume work is acknowledged as the supreme reference work on the subject most especially the Ersatz Volume (No.3) which was his great passion throughout his lifetime.

A very nice Ersatz Bayonet Type EB28 complete with "FAG" scabbard, ready to add to your collection!
