Original German WWI Model 1914 Mauser Saw Back Bayonet with Scabbard
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a rare bayonet, perhaps not as appealing as the butcher version; this was the first Mauser bayonet that's style later became the famous 98K bayonet of WW2.
Featuring a 10-inch saw back blade and the grip is equipped with a flash guard to protect the wood grips. No maker markings remain from the sides of the back of the blade but a WW1 German proof mark can be found on the blade spine.
The bayonet comes complete with a black painted scabbard which is numbered 1863, the paintwork somewhat chipped. Overall in good collector condition but could benefit from a scabbard repaint.
