  • Original Item: Only One Available. This a very nice service-used example of the German WWI Zielfernrohr (Remote Target Scope) 12 (Z.F.12), a 2.5X power, optical gun sight for the MG08, 7.92mm, Maxim machine gun, as used by Imperial Germany and her allies during the First World War and beyond. This example was stored in a German Fernglass 08 binocular case, which we have left included. It is marked on the sides with the number designation, serial number, and maker information:

    ELEITZ
    WETZLAR

    23152
    Z F 12

This indicates manufacture by Ernst Leitz GmbH, German corporation based in Wetzlar, a German centre for optics as well as an important location for the precision engineering industry. The adjustment wheel still functions, and the leather eyecup is still intact. The bottom of the attachment rack is stamped 96413.

A very rare scope to find in any condition, and this is the first we have offered by this rare maker. The optic is still fantastic, and will fit well on your MG08. Comes ready for further research and display.
