  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very rare bayonet, it started life in World War One as a standard Type 9 Ersatz (Emergency) all steel bayonet as listed in J. Anthony Carter's classic work: "GERMAN BAYONETS " published in 1992.

However, during the war it was modified for use with a captured rifle for reissue to Imperial German Troops. Such very similar modified bayonets can be found as Type 20 in the same publication on page 20.

These "modified" models are extremely scarce and very hard to find, this example coming to us among a collection amassed over the last thirty years that we have just acquired. The bayonet, shows some use is brightly polished and comes complete with the original black painted "FAG" steel scabbard.
