Original German WWI Duck's Head Swagger Stick named to Flying Ace Georg von Hantelmann

Item Description

Original Item: One of a Kind. This is a wonderful 34" long Bamboo Swagger stick, with a very impressive nickel plated zinc alloy Duck's Head as the top. Part way down the shaft is a silver ring/plaque identifying the owner as:

LEUTNANT GEORG VON HANTELMANN

George Von Hantelmann was born in Prussia in 1898, and joined the German Army in 1916. He was promoted to LEUTNANT (equivalent to U.S. 2nd Lieutenant) on June 15th 1917, and immediately transferred to the LUFTSTREIKRAFTE, the Germam Air Command and joined JASTA 15. He was only 19 years old at the time, however between then and the close of WW1 on November 11th 1918, he was credited with TWENTY FIVE Aerial Victories. Sadly he was murdered in 1924, at only 26 by a Poacher on his family's Estate.

Very impressive and in great condition to display with its history.
