Original Item. Only One Available. This is an original German HJ Marksmanship Badge, or HJ-Schießauszeichnung für Schützen, manufactured by Steinhauer & Lück of Lüdenscheid. Instituted in 1936, this badge was awarded to HJ members who successfully completed the prescribed small-caliber rifle shooting qualifications.
The badge is constructed from silvered nonferrous metal and features a circular black enameled target with concentric rings. Two crossed rifles appear at the center, surmounted by the traditional HJ diamond with translucent red enamel over a finely pebbled background, white side panels, and a black canted swas. emblem. The reverse retains its horizontal pin-back attachment, secured to a circular mounting plate, and bears the RZM insignia alongside the manufacturer code M1/63, identifying Steinhauer & Lück of Lüdenscheid.
Condition is good overall, with considerable age-related wear and patination. Much of the original silvered finish has worn away, exposing the underlying metal, while the black enameled target exhibits noticeable chipping and losses, particularly around the outer rings. The central HJ diamond remains well preserved, retaining strong red and white enamel coloration. The reverse has developed a dark brown patina with scattered oxidation, and the pin assembly remains intact.
