  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a tremendous example of a Pre-WWII porcelain equestrian statue of an Imperial German death’s head Hussar with his cavalry saber drawn at the ready. The colorized porcelain has fabulous detailing, but there are some bits of damage and other issues.

It appears that the sword blade was broken and repaired, and there is minor chipping to his headpiece. The tree stump and flowers at the base bring some real natural beauty into this piece. The base measures 3 ½ x 7 ¼” and the statue is 11 ¼” tall.

The reins held by the hussar are not porcelain but are well-retained. There are no markings we could find but this is certainly dating to the early 20th century, perhaps the 1920s or 1930s.
