Original German Pre-WWII O&M Haußer Tinplate Lithographed Wehrmacht Artillery Toy Lot - 3 Pieces Total
-
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very attractive group of three German tinplate artillery toys, most likely manufactured by O&M Haußer during the pre-WWII to early WWII period. Haußer was well known for producing military themed toys, vehicles, figures, and artillery pieces, many with colorful lithographed finishes.
All three examples are constructed from tinplate steel and feature printed camouflage decoration. The lithographed finishes remain surprisingly strong overall, giving the group a very appealing period appearance.
The lot includes three different artillery pieces.
The first is a camouflaged artillery piece mounted on a stand with adjustable elevation. It appears to have originally incorporated a spring or firing mechanism capable of launching a small projectile, although the related components are now heavily oxidized and the mechanism should not be considered functional.
The second is a camouflaged wheeled artillery piece fitted with tires, trail, and operating lever. The lever remains present but the mechanism is no longer functional.
The third is another camouflaged artillery piece on a circular stand with adjustable elevation. This example also no longer functions as originally intended. A ring at the rear can still be pulled back and released, apparently to simulate firing.
Condition is good overall for toys of this age, with expected wear, oxidation, and mechanical deterioration. The lithographed camouflage remains the strongest visual feature of the group and is well preserved across the pieces.
These are excellent examples of the type of German military themed toys produced during the interwar and early wartime period, when manufacturers such as O&M Haußer created a wide range of miniature military equipment for the domestic market.
A very nice display group of three period German artillery toys with strong surviving camouflage lithography and lots of character.
