This is an original German pre-WWII Luftwaffe EM/NCO dress belt with black patent leather exterior, felt padded interior, and an early pebbled aluminum Koppelschloß buckle displaying the distinctive droop tail Luftwaffe eagle. The belt retains its concealed style adjustment tab with seven pairs of sizing holes and measures approximately 35" overall.

The aluminum box pattern buckle has a finely pebbled face with the early Luftwaffe eagle positioned within a laurel wreath. This so called droop tail eagle is characteristic of early Luftwaffe insignia and differs noticeably from the later eagle pattern with a more extended tail.

The buckle is in very good condition, with the pebbling strongly retained and most of the eagle and wreath detail still clearly visible. No maker marking is visible on the buckle. There is also no surviving leather maker tab, so the original manufacturer cannot presently be identified. One of the two prongs on the size adjustment claw is missing.

The dress belt is made from thick leather with a black patent finish and a felt padded interior. The adjustment section has the correct broad end with concealed stitching and passes through the side of the belt. A leather sizing tab with seven pairs of adjustment holes remains attached.

The belt measures approximately 35" from end to end. No maker, size, or acceptance markings were located during inspection.

Overall condition is very good and consistent with age and use. The black patent leather surface shows extensive age related checking and areas where the finish has softened, crazed, and deteriorated over time. There are also several small areas of surface loss, including around the concealed stitching on the upper side. Despite the finish deterioration, the underlying belt remains intact without major structural cracking or breaks.

With its early droop tail Luftwaffe eagle buckle, pebbled aluminum construction, black patent leather dress belt, felt padded interior, and concealed adjustment arrangement, this is a strong early Luftwaffe EM/NCO dress belt set. The missing buckle prong, absent maker markings, surface checking, softened patent finish, and small areas of leather finish loss are all fully disclosed. It would fit especially well in an early Luftwaffe uniform, EM/NCO dress equipment, German belt buckle, or pre-WWII Luftwaffe collection.
