  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is an outstanding bronze statue of an Imperial German soldier marching along with a rifle slung over his shoulder and a stick grenade in his right hand. The bronze statue comes on its original marble base, measuring roughly 13” tall altogether, with the base measuring 3 x 4”. The front of the base bears an engraved plaque, reading:

    DAS OFFIZIERKORPS DES
    7 (PREUSS) INFANTERIE REGIMENTS
    SEINEM SCHEIDENDEN KAMERADEN
    HERRN OBERLEUTNANT MANTKE
    1.8.22 - 31.1.26

    THE OFFICERS' CORPS OF THE
    7TH (PREUSS) INFANTRY REGIMENT
    TO ITS DEPARTING COMRADE
    FIRST LIEUTENANT MANTKE
    AUGUST 1ST, 1922 - JANUARY 31ST, 1926

This was an outstanding gift presented to First Lieutenant Mantke upon his departure from the 7th Prussian Infantry Regiment on January 31st, 1926.

The only issue with the bronze is that the rifle has become detached from his shoulder and leans backward as it’s only held on by the sheet brass sling. It would just need to be glued to his back and it will display well indefinitely.

An outstanding display piece which absolutely warrants further research. Comes ready to display!
