Original Item. Only One Available. This is a fantastic German Reversible Waffen SS Style camouflage cap, made after the war using the Waffen-SS specific "Oak Pattern A" (Eichenlaubmuster) camouflage, which was in use 1943–1945. There were quantities of the material found after the war, as well as left over zeltbahns, which were then used to make examples such as this. This pattern was based on the earlier Platanenmuster (Plane Tree Pattern) used 1937–1942, and was reversible, with a "spring" side and an "autumn" side. These camouflage caps were made from a variety of materials during the war. Combined with the comfort of a field cap, they were relatively popular, and many were made in field workshops, so they were produced in countless styles.
As with most we see, there is no lining in the cap, though there is a "Sweatband", made from the same camouflage material. The cap has the "spring" side on the exterior, with more browns and greens, while the interior has the "autumn" side showing, and the cap definitely looks to be reversible.
The cap definitely shows wear from service, probably having been used during reenactments in the past. It also looks to have had some SS insignia installed on the front, which were later removed, though the stitching is still mostly present. We measured the cap, and it is a nice large 60cm.
A very nice post ware assembled cap made from real Waffen SS Camouflage, ready to display!
