Original Item: Only One Available. The look of these large "Bug Eye" type goggles is iconic! This is a very nice set of large tinted Luftwaffe goggles, used during the daytime to avoid the large amount of sun glare that could be encountered. They are of steel construction, with very nice chamois backed rubber surrounds, and a thick securing strap. The lenses themselves are tinted glass, and have a very nice "bubble" shape, which makes them very attractive. These would more often be used by flight crews in bombers, such as gunners, as they were at big to wear with many flight helmets and masks.
Condition is very nice, with the expected wear from age and use. The elastic in the securing band unfortunately has degraded, so they are not stretchy at all. THe lenses have a few scratches, but still gives a very good image, and the rubber and plastic surrounds are still supple.
