Original German & French WWII XX Corps USGI Bring-back Grouping: Insignia & Currency in Box

Original Item: Only One Available. The XX Corps of the United States Army fought from northern France to Austria in World War II. Constituted on 10 October 1943 by re-designating the IV Armored Corps of the Army Ground Forces, a training organization which had been activated at Camp Young, California on 5 September 1942, XX Corps became operational in France as part of Lieutenant General George S. Patton's U.S. Third Army on 1 August 1944.
We just received this from the family of a WWII soldier who was part of the XX Corps, and had brought back this small Souvenir set from the WWII European / German theater.
This very nice set comes in a cardboard box measuring about 8" x 4" x 3/4", which has some of the contents listed on the back. Inside the box are the following items:
- One Unissued German WWII Multi-Piece NSDAP Armband, which still has the RZM tag on the inside. It has the correct "B" tax code and is marked with the Hersteller (supplier) A4/849 over production No. 499095. More importantly, the back is marked Col. C. B. Spicer / XX CORP / TAKEN ETAINE, FRANCE. This is a fantastic research opportunity!
- One Unissued German WWII Luftwaffe Sports Shirt Eagle Insignia for M35 Sport Shirt. It is BeVO embroidered with white and black thread, still on the fabric sheet it was machine woven onto, measuring about 10 3/4" x 5 3/4". It is marked CAPTURED AT CHARTRE, FRANCE 1944.
- One Unissued Original German WWII NSKK National Socialist Motor Corps Breast Eagle, which still has the RZM tag on the inside. It has the correct "A" tax code and is marked with the Hersteller (supplier) A4/302 over production No. 311659.
- One German WWII HJ National Youth Organization Pin.
- One U.S. WWII SHOLD-R-FORM Eagle Insignia by Meyer.
- One 22-2-1940 dated Pre-German Invasion 50 Franc Note. There is some writing on the front, which we cannot make out.
- One 26-22-1942 dated Vichy France 10 Franc Note, marked erroneously as PRE-WAR FRENCH CURRENCY.
- Four 1944 series Allied Military Currency French Franc Notes, in 2, 5, 10, and 10 Franc denominations. These are also called "AM-Franc" notes were a currency issued by the United States for use in Allied-occupied France in the wake of the Battle of Normandy. Once French sovereignty was restored, Charles de Gaulle considered these to be "counterfeit", and they fell out of use.
- Three Vichy France WWII French Coins
- Three British WWII Coins, and one Fare Token
- One German WWII 10 Reichspfennig Coin
Additionally it looks like all the coins were identified, and originally taped to labels around them, and then others were mounted into a piece of cardboard. It definitely looks like some of the coins listed on the tape and cardboard may have gone missing over the past 70+ years.
Together this make a very nice bring-back set from WWII Germany. Kept together by the family for 70 years, and now offered for purchase.
