  • Original Item: Only One Available. Dating to somewhere around 1850 this is a most impressive Hunting Hanger, a type of short Sword carried by a gentleman hunter, very possibly in the Black Forest. This example has a brass mounted single edged 17 inch long blade, which looks to have been shortened over the years due to sharpening.  The brass pommel cap is cast in the shape of a Lion's head. The Stag Horn grip is beautifully carved, with the front face depicting a Stag and a Doe in a Forest scene.

Hanger comes complete with its original brass mounted leather scabbard that has slots for two additional small skinning knives, which are unfortunately absent.

A lovely German Hunting Hanger, ready to display.
