Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good service-used example of the scarce French WWII Model 1935 armored vehicle helmet, commonly known as the Casque Modèle 1935 or Chars de Combat helmet. It retains much of its original paint, the original liner assembly, integral chinstrap, and an unusual French Air Force RF winged-star badge mounted at the front.
The Model 1935 helmet was developed for French tank, armored vehicle, motorcycle, and other mechanized personnel who required head protection inside the confined spaces of military vehicles. Its low-profile steel shell differs considerably from the standard Adrian helmet and has a rear protective skirt together with a padded leather brow section across the front.
The helmet retains much of its original painted finish, with scratches, scuffs, oxidation, and wear from age and service. The overall patina gives it a very convincing field-used appearance without obscuring the distinctive form of the shell.
Mounted at the front is an oxidized metal badge featuring the letters:

For République Française, together with the winged-star emblem associated with the French Air Force. French M1935 armored vehicle helmets are known with Air Force badges, making this an especially interesting variation of an already scarce helmet.
The interior retains its original liner, which shows extensive wear and age. The integral head and chinstrap remains attached and retains its working buckle, although the strap is torn and should be handled carefully. The leather and interior materials have stiffened and deteriorated with time but remain largely present.
The condition reflects genuine service and long storage, with finish loss, oxidation, liner wear, cracking, and damage to the strap. These issues are fully visible in the accompanying photographs, but the helmet remains solid and highly displayable.
The unusual French Air Force badge, retained original paint, complete liner assembly, and honest service wear make this a particularly appealing example of French mechanized headgear from the early years of WWII.
