Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very interesting WWII French Artillery round which is marked on the bottom of the casing with 37Mle 1938 A.R.S. 39.40. D. The projectile of the round is a bit loose to the casing but cannot be removed. The fuze of the projectile can be unscrewed to view the interior.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
The fuze of the round is marked 26/30 R.S.A. MLE 38-1. The side of the projectile is marked MDN A.M.S. 5-40, likely for a manufacture date of May 1940. The projectile has many small holes and areas of rusting as shown. The round measures 10¾” tall with a 2” base diameter.
The round is in good overall shape and is a good candidate for research. Comes ready for display.
