Original Item. Only One Available. The C38 was a French WW2 era gas mask. It was issued to civilians along with the TC-38 in the late 30's and early 40's. The C38 is moulded out of rubber, it features a forward facing exhale valve, crimped on celluloid eye lenses, a rubber 7-point head harness and supports a 42mm filter port. The mask features no inhale valve, instead, the inhale valve was installed into the filter. The mask also features a moulded in inner tissot deflector system to prevent lens fogging.
This is a great example that comes in its original carry bag, which retains the carry strap, a dimming stick, and a maker’s mark under the flap for D.S.G, 1940.
The mask itself is marked on the bottom DUCEL 40-81. The filter still screws on and retains its cap, so it appears unissued. There is also a rube retained with the set, likely so it could be used both ways.
