Original Items. Only One Lot of Two Available. Political cartoons, often full of humorous caricatures of major figures, are one of the most enduring forms of political commentary, in use around the world. During wartime however, these often become far more pointed, often used both as a source of humor but also as home front propaganda and morale boosters.
This is a nice lot of two Anti-axis postcards manufactured during the war, both made in France.
The first loose postcard depicts AH sitting in a chair with a Swas on it while the Earth and moon above him bleeds, with all countries and locations labeled DEUTSCHLAND. The back shows it was made in Paris. 3 ⅜ x 5 ½”.
The second postcard is framed in a small 6 ⅛ x 8 ⅛” frame and depicts a baby with boxing gloves hitting a ball with AH’s face on it. There is a French, German, and English caption all reading “That’s the thing to become a champion!”
A good pair of postcards, ready for further research and display.
