Original French WWI Rabbit Ears Trench Binoculars Periscope

Original item: Only One Available. 1916 French trench binoculars 8 x 24 almost certainly as they are ideintcal to another pair we had which were manufactured in Puteaux by the Société de Recherches et de Perfectionnements industriels (SRPI) for the MG which means Ministère de la Guerre (Ministry of War). Markings have been painted over which was not uncommon. Function perfectly with clear optics and a moveable handle. Used by soldiers in the trench to peak over the top without losing their head. Also included is the original leather carry strap.
