Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce example of a Bertrand gas grenade, made of six iron segments, each of them drilled with a hole and having four pins on the inside. They were held together with a steel wire and contained a glass ball with chloroacetone. These were not popular among troops due to the gas breaking while being thrown. Like all deactivated ordnance, this grenade is Not Available for Export.
This example is in good shape but has a recently added wire holding it all together, not the original wire. The glass tube is no longer present inside, so this example likely broke before being thrown and the pieces all fell out.
This is a very rare grenade, ready for further research and display.
