Item Description
Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This is finely hand crafted from the internal hub of a World War One propeller. It is a sweet heart box intended to hold women's jewelry that reads on the lid:

1914 -1918
The center of the lid is engraved with an aviator insignia. The lid is secured with a lock button that when depressed releases the internal catch and opens the box. The interior of the box is lined quilted royal blue silk that is secured with small brass tacks. The build quality is excellent.
Inside the box is a business card that in print reads:
ROBERT JOSSE
Lieutenant Aviateur
Chateau de Pont St. Pierre (Eure)
On the front there is more writing in handwritten ink and on the back it reads:
Wishes for Xmas of 1918.
A truly remarkable little box with some story to tell and loads of research potential. Pont-Saint-Pierre is in Northern France in the Normandy region.
