Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a classic French flintlock pistol manufactured exclusively for the French Navy by the royal arsenal at TULLE and marked on the lock plate- Mre.Nle.De Tulle. This model continued in production and in service well into the Napoleonic wars.
Missing steel ramrod and belt hook at sometime removed, this pistol bears a minimal of personalized decoration in the form of minor silver wire inlay to the rear of the grip along with what we believe are a previous owner's Initials T.M. in two inlaid ovals. There is a small wood repair to the toe of the stock, left side at butt cap, possibly contemporary. This is a scarce original French 18th Century French Naval Flintlock Pistol, well marked, from the French Royal Arsenal Tulle.
