Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a lovely piece of Napoleonic history, a small fragment of woodwork from the Longwood dining room in Napoleon’s residence on the island of St. Helene. This piece came from the Museum of Trans on June 13th, 1963, with a note of provenance signed by Gilbert Martineau, Consul of France, Curator of the French Domain of St. Helene.
The frame is a gorgeous gilt example with the wreathed N for Napoleon at the bottom. There is also a postcard showing his residence at St. Helene below the note. The frame measures 11¼ x 13¾” and is a great example. The piece itself measures 1½ x 3½”.
A fantastic piece of Napoleon history, ready for further research and display.
