Original Item: Only One Available. This is an original French Lefaucheux 7mm pinfire pocket revolver, serial number LF1805, complete with a well-fitting period brown leather flap holster. The revolver retains its marked barrel, folding trigger, loading gate, ejector rod, double and single action mechanism, and attractive aged metal and wood finish.

This is an antique black powder firearm manufactured before 1899. It is sold as a historical collector’s item and has not been test fired or evaluated by a professional gunsmith. The mechanical and bore observations below describe only its present condition and do not establish that it is safe to load or fire. The purchaser is responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The pinfire cartridge system was developed by Casimir Lefaucheux and further refined by his son Eugène. Each cartridge has a small pin projecting through the side of the case. When struck by the hammer, the pin drives into the internal primer and ignites the charge.

This self-contained cartridge system offered considerably faster loading than contemporary muzzle-loading percussion revolvers. Pinfire arms saw widespread civilian and military use in Europe, though the exposed cartridge pins were vulnerable to damage and accidental impact.

The abbreviation BRTE S.G.D.G. stands for Breveté Sans Garantie du Gouvernement, indicating a patented design without a government guarantee.

The right side of the barrel breech is serial numbered:

The revolver measures approximately 8" in overall length and has a 3 1/2" round barrel.

The bore has four grooves with a very slow rate of twist that appears nearly straight at first inspection. The rifling remains crisp, and the bore is mostly bright with little evidence of heavy use.

Some age related oxidation is present within the bore, but there is no major corrosion described.

The loading gate remains present and operates correctly. The ejector rod is also complete and functions as intended.

The revolver cycles correctly in both double and single action during manual inspection. No obvious timing or cycling issue was noted, though it has not been test fired or professionally evaluated.

The folding trigger helps maintain the compact pocket profile and folds beneath the frame when not in use.

The exterior metal surfaces have developed an even gray oxidized patina. Scattered light peppering is present, but there is no major active oxidation.

The wooden grip remains attractive and shows expected age and handling wear.

The included brown leather flap holster fits the revolver well and retains its rear belt loop. The front securing stud is missing, so the flap cannot be fastened in its original manner.

The holster shows a well-matured surface with expected creasing, scuffing, finish wear, and age related changes consistent with prolonged use and storage.

With its E. Lefaucheux Paris markings, faint but legible LF1805 serial number, intact folding trigger, functioning loading gate and ejector, crisp four-groove bore, double and single action mechanism, wooden grip, and fitted period leather holster, this is an appealing example of an early European cartridge revolver. The bore oxidation, exterior peppering, aged finish, holster wear, and missing flap stud are fully disclosed. It would display particularly well in a French arms, Lefaucheux, pinfire cartridge, pocket revolver, early repeating handgun, or advanced antique firearm collection.
