Original French Garter Pistol with Bible - Circa 1865

Regular price $495.00

Item Description

Original Items: only one set available. This set is just enchanting. These two items came together but are a complete contradiction in terms. The first is an original French leather bound edition of the New Testament, published in Paris in 1865.

The second is a most interesting very small caliber continental single shot pistol with characteristic barrel design of 5.5 in length with a unique muzzle. Referred to as "Garter" guns one can well imagine such a dainty and feminine weapon being tucked away on the inside of a Lady's garter belt.

Clearly owned by a lady of divided occupations that we can only speculate about, a truly fascinating set of items from Paris of the 1860’s.

NOTE: International orders of antique firearms MUST be shipped using UPS WW Services (courier). USPS Priority Mail international will not accept these.

Therefore, all of IMA's Antique guns may be shipped to all US States and most nations around the world.

These antique guns are not sold in live condition. They are sold as collector’s items or as wall hangers. Any attempt at restoring an antique gun to be operational is strongly discouraged and is done so at the risk of the customer. By purchasing an antique gun from IMA you thereby release IMA, its employees and corporate officers from any and all liability associated with use of our Antique guns.
