Original French First Indochina War Le Commando Fairbairn-Sykes Third Pattern Style Commando Dagger With Scabbard Marked Inox - Excellent Condition

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic example of a Le Commando F-S commando style fighting knife. Undoubtedly post-WWII, this French Commando Knife could have been used by a mercenary, a member of the French Foreign Legion or a French Commando. The blade is well made, symmetrical and nicely polished. The blackened handle is non-magnetic and appears to be aluminum. A traditional French sheath, complete with boot/belt clip, accompanied it. The handle is very similar to the British 3rd Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes knife.

The condition of the knife is good, still with sharp edges, and as per pattern the blade is polished. The plain steel cross guard is tight on the blade with no wobble and some minor surface oxidation. It is marked on the top of the crossguard with:

LE COMMANDO
INOX
MARQUE & MODELE DEPOSES
SUPER-NOGENT

The leather scabbard is the standard French example with both the belt loop as well as a clip to be used as either a boot knife or clip to be used on webbing.

The overall condition is close to excellent, making this an extremely rare offering as they are never found in this state.

A great example ready for further research and display.
