  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a gorgeous example of a left-handed dirk dating to the early 18th Century, roughly the 1720s-1730s, with a lovely carved ivory grip and silver crossguard.

The blade, which is six-sided, measures roughly 7”, with an overall length of 12⅛”. The blade shows heavy wear from centuries without its scabbard, and the silver of the crossguard has a very lovely tarnished patina.

The ivory grip has a crack on both sides roughly 1¾” long, but it appears to be stable and doesn’t pose any danger to the structural integrity of the knife. The blade is still tight to the hilt, but the silver crossguard feels a bit loose. The pommel screws off revealing a small compartment in the grip, possibly to conceal something. A very interesting knife, ready for further research and display.
