Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a classic late 18th century French style Brass Blunderbuss Flintlock Pistol by FAISAN of NAMUR, which is actually today in Belgium, but was the site of a famous battle just prior to Waterloo in 1815 resulting in the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Notable features include a checkered bag type grip with semi-eared engraved steel butt cap. Features an all-brass lock and a 7.5-inch brass barrel. The strong functioning under-the-barrel spring triangular bayonet is activated by pulling the trigger guard towards the butt, and snaps to a locking position very impressively. Pistol comes complete with original brass tipped wood ramrod housed in two brass pipes to the right of the barrel. Lock marked FAISAN on left and NAMUR on right.

Thirteen inches in overall length, this pistols dates from the late 18th century to the Napoleonic Wars.
