Designed to fire bolts rather than shot, it was most likely intended for fishing or small game, where precision and quiet operation were essential.
The piece features a rifle-style figured and checkered grip wooden stock paired with a robust hand-cocked iron bow measuring approximately 21.5 inches across, giving it substantial power for its size. Overall length measures 35.5 inches from tip to butt, making it well-balanced and practical for field use.
