  • Original Item: Only One Available. Bayonets of this rare type were released in 1976 by the Egyptian Ministry of the Interior, included in a mass of Remington Rolling Block Contract Rifles and Martini Enfield Carbines. This however is a bit different, as indicated by the "reverse" hooked quillon, a hallmark of the French Model 1842 bayonet for percussion carbines. Egypt used similar weapons, an copied the French design, though a bit more crudely made.

This bayonet is quite impressive, about 27 1/2 inches long with a 22 1/2 inch "Yataghan" style saber blade, with a wide fuller on each side. There are no markings to be found anywhere on the bayonet or scabbard, typical of the Egyptian production. Condition is very good, though there is definitely some oxidation and light pitting on the blade.

A very nice example, complete with scabbard and ready to display!
