Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of a War Axe, which also functions as a spear, perfect for use on horseback. Measuring 39 1/2" overall length, it has a spear topped sturdy wooden shaft with brass pommel with eye ring for wrist strap. About a foot from the top, a CRESCENT shaped blade with a 8 3/8" diameter cutting edge is mounted on the shaft with an iron and brass decorated collar.
The triangular spear head is just 4" in length, however that would be more than enough to penetrate light armor.. Most impressive and typical of the OTTOMAN EMPIRE.
