  • Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a lovely German Jäger Hunting Rifle, originally produced in flintlock but later converted to percussion, most likely in England. It is fitted with a magnificent iron open work side plate and real quality steel mounts, which are all shaped and engraved / embossed. A very large amount of work went into producing this rifle. The conversion was also very well executed with a large "drum" bolster, and the frizzen was even replaced with a very ornate nipple cone cover, instead of just having the spring and frizzen removed.

The rifle features a heavy octagonal barrel measuring 23 1/2" and measures 43 1/2" overall. It has the characteristic sliding patch box to the right side of butt stock and features all steel quality mounts with a horn nose cap, and diamond horn inlays on the fore stock and patch box. There is however no signature or makers mark except for some cartouches on the barrel nocks form, which we were not able to identify. If there were markings on the lock they were unfortunately lost during the percussion conversion.

In overall lovely condition might be a very good candidate to re-convert to Flintlock if so desired. Ready to display!
