Pieter Starbus worked from 1680 until 1724 who also had establishments in Stockholm, Sweden and in St. Petersburg, Russia. A gun making family of three generations staring in 1648 that lasted until 1765.

Overall length is 20 1/2 inches with a 12 1/2 inch polished steel barrel. The engraved lock plate is polished as is all the furniture. The eared butt cap displays a grotesque mask and the wood stock is finely carved around tang and fore end. The stock has wonderful curled grain and a deep finish. We suspect that the wood is Strasbourg Curly Walnut. The front of the stock tipped with stag horn. The pistol retains an all wood ramrod which appears to be true to the period.
