Original Danish Flintlock M1794/1808 Short Musket

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. Denmark made the unfortunate choice of siding with Revolutionary France in the 1790s and in 1801 they suffered terribly at the hands of Admiral Horatio Nelson's fleet at the Battle of Copenhagen.

Again in 1807 Britain beat down all Danish Naval resistance at a second Battle of Copenhagen and great masses of Arms and Ammunition were taken. This took Denmark out of the Napoleonic Wars completely.

Here we have a Danish Flintlock Military Musket of the Pattern of 1794 that in 1808 was officially shortened. The musket has a 17.5mm bore and heavy brass mounts. The lock is marked with a large C:107, no doubt a regimental reference number. 29-inch Barrel and 44-inches in overall length.
