  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a well-worn example of the Croatian Land Army Model 1941 dagger, manufactured by Braca Knaus of Zagreb. The dagger retains its original silver-plated brass hilt and matching scabbard, together with its nickel-plated steel blade. Braca Knaus was a prominent Croatian manufacturer during the period, producing edged weapons for Croatian military personnel and Ustaše officers.

The circular pommel features an embossed twisted rope border surrounding the raised initials "NHD," denoting the Independent State of Croatia. The straight crossguard is fitted with downward-turned quillons decorated with a matching twisted rope border, while the quillon block is embellished on both obverse and reverse with a distinctive triplet motif.

The nickel-plated blade measures approximately 10 inches in length and exhibits significant wear to the plating, exposing areas of oxidized steel beneath. The ricasso is maker marked:

    BRACA KNAUS
    ZAGREB

The dagger measures approximately 14½ inches in overall length. The silver-plated brass hilt has developed an attractive, untouched patina consistent with age and service.

The original silver-plated brass scabbard remains with the dagger and is decorated with an embossed pattern across its lower half, contrasting with a pebbled finish on the upper portion. Both suspension rings remain intact, although each exhibits some denting from use. The scabbard measures approximately 11¼ inches in length.

This is a scarce example of the Croatian Land Army Model 1941 dagger by one of the best-known Croatian wartime manufacturers. Retaining its matching scabbard, identifiable maker mark, and original plated fittings, it is an excellent representative example of this increasingly difficult-to-find pattern.

    Overall length: 14 1/2"
