Original Cold War Soviet MIG Jet Fighter GSH-6 High Altitude Flying Helmet with Case

Original Item: Only One Available. The Soviet GSH-6 Pressurized Sub-Orbital Flying Helmet was usually used on MIG-21, MIG-23 and MIG-25 fighter interceptor airplanes as well as for cosmonaut training flights. The clear pressure visor is electrically heated to prevent fogging of the visor.
This example comes fully equipped. The cloth inner helmet has an integrated communications system, 2 headphones and a boom microphone. The outer helmet is electrically connected with the inner system. Including the transport container, and locking neck-ring with rubber gasket. The transport container is in rough condition as the bottom has fallen out and is in pieces. It does still bear the original data plate which has stamped numbers 05 90 for a date of May 1990. The case measures roughly 12½ x 14”. The case is in bad shape but will still display fine.
The helmet is in fair shape overall but the rubber on the interior of the zipper sheet that connects to the bottom of the helmet is peeling and ripping off which has resulted in many small pieces of hard rubber forming. This is a good helmet with the visor and retractable interior visor still in good working order. The helmet just needs some TLC.
This is a good example of a scarce helmet, ready for further research and display.
